It is with much disappointment that we announce the cancellation of Mercer SuperCycle 2020 (28th March- 5th April 2020).

Last night the SuperCycle Board met to assess the current and escalating COVID-19 (Coronavirus) threat and the risks of proceeding with the 2020 ride.

The Board has considered rider and support crew feedback and that of our partners and sponsors. Our decision-making was focused on ensuring the health and well-being of all involved in the event and upholding the proud reputation and integrity of SuperCycle and its sponsors and partners.

The Board unanimously resolved that cancelling the ride is the most diligent option.  Any benefits of continuing the ride are considered to be comprehensively outweighed by the risks associated with COVID-19.

We appreciate your understanding during these unprecedented times and share the disappointment you may feel. The Board wishes to acknowledge the significant training, fundraising and commitment that all riders, support crew and organisers have contributed to this date, with the ultimate goal of supporting the cause; supporting country cancer patients and their families with vital accommodation through The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF)’s Under Our Roof project.

All registered 2020 riders’ registration fees will be credited towards your registration in the 2021 event should you register to participate. Although this decision is not in line with our policy, the Board agreed it is appropriate given the extenuating circumstances. If you don’t wish to register for 2021 your registration fee will be converted into a kind donation to THRF. For those riders and support crew that have booked pre and post event accommodation at the Ibis Adelaide – this amount will be refunded to you.

Thank you so much for supporting Mercer SuperCycle and for your understanding during this difficult time. Now we look forward to the 2021 event and we will keep you up-to-date as plans progress.
